Aug. 1st, 2004 07:19 pmI went to NRH2O with my family today. We got there just as it opened and spent 4 hours there, which was really all we could take. Damn my fish-belly-white body! In light of that, it's just as well that we didn't go to Schlitterbahn. Driving 4 hours down and 4 hours back just to spend 4 hours there would've been a waste, don't you think?
Anyway, here are some things I've learned as a result of today's expedition:
Anyway, here are some things I've learned as a result of today's expedition:
- They open and check your luggage (coolers, baskets, etc.) before you can enter the park. I was unaware that small regional waterparks were considered likely terrorist targets.
- Sunburns are an excellent way to find out where you didn't adequately apply sunscreen.
- White cotton t-shirts only have an SPF rating of 5, so it's still possible to burn through them.
- Watching a small children's float tube shaped like a ducky go flying away high in the sky makes me giggle. Fly away ducky! Be free!
- I don't tan so much as my freckles join forces.
- The Sonic's drive-in next to the waterpark must have a huge profit margin.
- Green-tinted aloe vera gel, when applied on reddening sunburn, which is itself next to pale white skin, produces an odd color scheme. I've got Christmas on my chest!
