Jul. 31st, 2004 05:59 pmWell, we haven't gone out of town after all since most of us were feeling pretty punk due to allergies, but we're planning on going to NRH2o tomorrow. Anyway, all of us (minus
lysariala) went to see the new M. Night Shyamalan movie, "The Village". Personally, I thought that it was a good movie, but one I didn't like. Shyamalan has garnered a reputation for putting twists into his movies, which means that audience members tend to be on the look out for hints as to the twist from the beginning of the movie. This means that he now has to use multiple twists or red herrings in order to retain audience interest. And the very last twist ruined the rest of the movie for me. It just made the rest of the situation in the movie seem incredibly, horribly cruel.
From the previews: "The Forgotten" looks really good, "National Treasure" looks really bad, and "Cellular" looks like it's worth a matinee viewing.
