Was reading some old "Dilbert" books and found a quote I like: "His paradigm shifted with a clutch."

Dogs seem to really like me. Both of my current students have big dogs (one has 2 retrievers, the other has an English mastif) and they *love* me. They just wanna play with me and climb all over me whenever I'm there. Might just be their personalities, tho. But even when I'm on campus or at the park, people's dogs like coming up to me for petting. Strange but neat.

Just realized that I have a half-used roll of month-old film in my camera. I need to get out and finish it off so I can develop it. Yes, I know that I don't have to finish the roll, but I feel bad about wasting film. Which reminds me, I want to head over to Wolf's Cameras to check out the telephoto lenses. I'd like a stronger lens in addition to the one I have now. I also want to see how much it would cost to repair the cameras Papaw gave me. He's slowing giving me my inheritance in the form of heirlooms, and the most recent are the cameras he used 50 years ago.

Thinking of my grandfather, he and my grandmother are visiting for the week, and they, my parents and I had lunch at Souper Salad yesterday. During lunch, we got onto the topic of Chernobyl and the effect of nuclear weaponry on modern society (what can I say, we're wierd) 'cause I mentioned seeing this (ganked from [livejournal.com profile] harley), and I found out that I'm only 3 connections from the Nagasaki bomb. My grandfather (1) served in Guam with a man (2) who saw the plane loaded with it take off (3). Kinda neat, kinda wierd.

My watch died in the middle of a tutoring lesson yesterday (did daylight savings do something to it?), and it took me 5 minutes with a knife blade to open the back. No, it not as bad as it sounds; the back is supposed to come off for replacement of the battery, but the little catch/groove thing is pretty damn thin. Now I just have to find somewhere that sells watch batteries. I wonder where the closest Radio Shack is?
