drewbearAnd we start off with the obligatory shot designed to boost Hawai'i's tourism. Or, in Lost tradition, beauty punctuated by carnage. It's this whole theme they have going.
So this is going to be an Ana Lucia ep, I take. Greeeeat.
And there are the kids Libby was asking after, as well of the Teddy Bear of Otherly Portent.
Oh, Lord. With the leading the Backenders and the tough-as-nails attitude and the knowing CPR, Ana Lucia is going to be played as Kate's Latina twin, isn't she?
Okay, so Libby was on the beach with them first thing. My theory that she's an Others plant is fading.
Mister Eko is their Locke, Ana Lucia is their Kate/Jack (before they split the character to keep Jack around)... I wonder who else will match up.
Poor Bernard. First he has to be a tree-hugger, then he attractive older wife is missing. Sorta. I mean, WE know where she is, but you know what I mean.
Alas, poor Goodwin, we hardly knew ye.
Ooookaaaay. So was Mister Eko killing some Others or was he eating long pig?
Killing some Others. Gotcha.
So, the starting number of 23 Backenders counted some people who died of infections on the beach. And were there only 10 graves? I thought that there were more bodies than that in the water.
And, in response to the initial resistance, they come in force. And Ana Lucia loses her blood innocence, too.
Whoa! A list? I didn't see that coming. Where the hell did they get those names, anyway? Was Ethan still with the Lostaways at this point?
So Nathan the Canadian was their Ethan Rom. I wonder if all the Others have names that end in -than. Is Jonathan next?
Okay, not wanting to break a promise to a little girl is no reason for Ana Lucia to go all caveman apeshit that fast. Chica led a hard life.
Okay, so it's Dharma station Arrow. Wonder which one this one was studying. Glass eye, tho? And what was that book? I couldn't tell.
Whoa! Goodwin was the plant? Admitedly, I was suspecting him before Nathan went all psycho... which is why I should've stayed with Goodwin. Ethan was a non-entity too, after all. And "that's why you weren't on the list"? "They're better off now"? Geez, creepy much?
Oh, poor doomed Boone and his final broadcast. We're coming up on the raft-launch, tho.
