Today was a balanced day: one yay, one grr, and one semi-grr.

First, the yay. This was the preparing-for-school tax-free holiday weekend in Texas, and I decided to exploit it by going shopping at the Casual Male Big & Tall outlet store in Hillsboro, TX (about a 45-50 minute drive). In addition to the tax-free holiday, the store had a bunch of stuff on sale, and I picked up a new pair of black jeans, a nice new dress belt, a windblazer and 9 shirts for about $215. The only thing that I regret was that there was a BEAUTIFUL patterned silk shirt that would be perfect clubwear. The problem is that it was 2 sizes too big (!!!) for me and hung on me like a small tent. Otherwise, a splendid shopping trip.

Second, the grr. I noticed a small rash underneath my mustache and when I mentioned it to my father, he told me that he had had the same thing happen occasionally when he used to have a beard. It's something like dandruff of the facial hair and is a mild reaction to the occasional irritation of the beard or mustache. Dad also told me that the best and quickest way to treat it is to shave the affected area and keep it cleanshaven for about 5 days before regrowing hair there. So now I am minus a mustache, leaving me with a true goatee. I look weird and I want my mustache back, dammit!

Finally, the semi-grr. When I got back from shopping and was going through my purchases, I noticed that the jeans were missing. When I did an item by item comparison to the receipt, I discovered that I was missing 4 items. So apparently I didn't pick up one of the bags when I left. Crap. This is only a semi-grr, because when my parents got home (Dad needed new clothes too), there was a message from the store asking us to call back tomorrow. I'm betting that they discovered the bag of stuff, so I feel somewhat better.

*whimpers* I want my mustache back!
