Has anybody out there every made up new words that stay in their vocabulary because they're just perfect? I ask because a while back my sister and I came up with the adjective "skeezy", which is a cross between skanky and sleazy and is used to describe a particularly unpleasant and possibly disease-ridden person, or "skeeze". I've been hearing both of these words from various random sources recently and find it amusing that I may have contributed to slang.

So, any words?

I do it all the time, but can only think of a few right now:

Heisenbug - (In honor of Werner Heisenberg and the Uncertainty Principle) any anomaly where the act of investigating its nature causes it to disappear. SW Engineering use: All code runs flawlessly under the debugger.

inspectigate - inspect + investigate. This is what cats do around the house.

devoon - devine + swoon (Use your imagination )

I love inspectigate, and I'm probably going to be encountering Heisenbugs in later EE classes. Thanks for the nomenclature!

...My sister just yelled a new word at me: "tentacular", which we use mainly to describe Cthuloid critters including, but not limited to, octopi, squid, and shoggoths. I love having family as weird as I am.

Yeah, I know that it's something like that, but I still think that it's nifty that I helped add a word to the language.
