Fuck fuck fuck.

The apartment complex is updated the pipes/plumbing in the buildings over the next few months. They're starting with my building, specifically the apartments on my end of the building.

Tomorrow. For both of my days off. From 8AM to 6PM. And water usage is not allowed during those times.

The notice was posted on my door sometime today while I was at work, along with "zones" that I needed to clear to be worked on or moved through (most of the apartment) and "safe areas" where I could store my stuff (the patio and half of my bedroom). So I just spent a funtabulous 90 minutes figuring out where the hell I could move stuff.

Did I mention that aside from the obvious places to be cleared (bathroom, laundry, dishwasher, kitchen sink, etc.) I had to clear out all 3 of my closets? Apparently they're going to need to cut through the drywall in the back of each of them to get to some of the pipes.

My apartment looks like a disaster area. Well, okay, more so than usual.

But completely aside from having to rearrange my apartment twice, what the hell am I supposed to do on my days off if I can't sleep in or fuck off at home?! I'm trying to keep my expenditures to an absolute minimum, which means I don't want to go shopping or see any movies or anything like that. And yes, I know that I have a couple of friends who won't be at work either, but my guilt complex doesn't want to me bother them with my problems.

God DAMN, but the timing of this sucks.

You live in a good state for mild hiking. Browse the national park list in your area and give it a go. hell I'd almost recommend camping but I don't think you have a tent.

Hmm... that's a good idea. None of my shoes are really all that good for long-distance hiking (hence the hiking boots listed on my "preparations" post), but my sneakers should be good enough for some short walks.

Thanks for the suggestion!

and if worse comes to worst, you can always nap in the car in the park. hell i did that many a day skipping school from Lamar at river legacy ^_^ just position a book on your chest so they don't think you're homeless and rouse you from your midday slumber :)

Sounds like a plan, Stan. And I actually have stuff I could be doing, so I would legitimately be not-a-hobo.

'Tis very annoying, though less so than I'd initially feared.

Well, I'm taking my car over to that Midas near you this morning, so I may call you after it's done.

Ya know...

With all that construction dust, I think they owe you a carpet cleaning?

They probably will, but we both know I ain't gonna get one. There's no way they would authorize cleaning the carpets in every apartment after it gets worked on. I just hope the mess is kept to a minimum.

Good luck,

You can always go to the library and hang out on computers, go to the park for a picnic

The weather looks like it won't be cooperating for outdoor activities, but I may look up the location of the closest library. Thanks for the suggestion. :-)

My desk top computer is always unlocked, so you can feel free to come over and play around a bit. If my dildos and penis pumps are in the way, just look around them... or use them... whatever.

We also have a selection of fine films, and by fine, I mean b-rated and by films I mean schlock. I need to make you a key to my house.

Oh yeah, the weather has been really nice as well. So a picnic lunch out in Umstead park with a good book under a tree always sounds cool too.

Luke & I ended up watching I Am Legend, both the original theatrical release and the better ending. And yes, the better ending was much, much better.

I think that art museum over by the fairgrounds is worth a visit any day... maybe not ALL day, but it just depends on if you love Jewish art as much as I do.
