Heroes 1.16: Unexpected
Feb. 28th, 2007 04:49 pmOnly a week and a half late!
Sorta Previously: Radioactive Ted cybered with this hot Isreali chick who's an assasin who can control electronic info WITH HER MIND! (Read: techie-geek dream girl)
Really Previously: Ando & Hiro got suckered, Matt got his shit worked over by Jessica, Peter fell onto a car, Sylar teamed up with Mohinder, Mama Claire finally lost her mind. Literally.
Okay, so Mama Bennet's memory loss is erratic. Very Alzheimers, but WAY early.
Interesting juxtaposition of those first 2 paintings we see in Isaac's loft: Peter jumping/flying and Isaac and Simone sharing a moment. Nicely symbolic of how Peter is once again separate from the others, despite his best wishes.
So Isaac is now an official, gun-toting member of the OWI. Bet he really wasn't expecting this when he called in Papa Bennet.
I find it oddly and funnily symptomatic of Matt that he hides the diamonds in his sock drawer like a kid would hide a porn mag.
Interesting how Mrs. Matt's first reaction to the ring is "what did you do?" instead of happiness. Yeah, Baby Matt ain't gonna save this marriage. Mrs. Matt's entire demeanor is one of barely surprised fear of and for Matt.
Sylar is surprisingly human here, considering his previously displayed sociopathy/psychopathy. I guess that "DNA degradation" that Papa Bennet mentioned a few episodes back is starting to have more effects.
Okay, so Dale has some kind of hearing-related power, I'm guessing. That closeup on her ear and the whole thing with rap being the only thing that cancels "it" out. Yup. I like how we're seeing that all the powers, even the passive ones, are EVENTUALLY controllable, after an initial adjustment period. I wonder what this portends for Claire's regeneration?
Hiro is cute when he's trying to be tough and intimidating.
Okay, is Radioactive Ted trying to go all blight in the cemetary there, or is he just losing control to his emotions again?
Okay, so the invisibility IS a touch-shared effect. Obviously it works on inanimate objects, but can Doctor Where deliberately make other people invisible by touching them?
You know, I really do find Claude's method of training Peter to use his power(s) to be quite amusing. "Do it right or you get the stick!"
Isaac just leaves his super-tranq gun laying out in the open? Geez... some superagent HE is.
Wow. Gustafson is really gloom and doom, isn't he? Not that False Hope is any better.
Okay, that thing I said about Sylar acting more human? Nevermind. I gotta give props to the actor though, he's great at being creepily insane.
Mama Bennet is riding that edge of trying not to act worried. I feel so sorry for her.
Aw, crap. I really hope that she doesn't die, but that's kinda the story arc for the reluctant hero, isn't it? Poor Mama Bennet. Poor Claire.
You know, I totally didn't think about using heat-tracers to "see" Claude and Peter.
So it looks like Peter's finally learned how to pull his powers out at will. Now we just have to see if he can use them simultaneously. He's already pretty powerful, what with the permanent mimickry.
Dammit. There's something wonky with the NBC online vid and I can't get the last half to play. I guess it's time to (finally) read the TWoP recap to see what I missed.
