Heroes 1.14: Distractions
Feb. 5th, 2007 08:56 pmPreviously: Sylar escaped, Hiro met Daddy Warbucks Nakamura, The Doctor showed up for kicks, Claire called up Firestarter Mommy
Okay, so if Claude's power somehow makes his clothes as unseeable as well, how come that pretzel was visible? Cool effect, though.
Okay, so obviously Doctor Where? has not only trained supers before, but has trained empaths before. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he's a rogue from Bennet's organization, much like Wireless (we'll meet her later; she's online-only so far).
Okay, so Shrink Oprah is trying to use an autohypnotic technique on Niki. Of course, considering that it's already well documented that Jessica is a superstrong psychobitch, I would be a little iffy about those restraints holding her.
AAAAAnd there's Jessica, proving my point.
Sylar really is a well designed villian. Much like The Joker, he's passed through insanity into the cold, clear realms of anti-sanity. And he's attained such control of his TK that it's no longer conscious effort but merely another sense/limb for him. Nice touch.
Simone, stop being so nasty to your ex; he's doing the best he can and your bitching at him for not finding your current is more than a little arrogant.
I swear, Mr. Muggles is the only one in that household who knows what's really going on. And Claire and Zach have done a really good job on that cover story. I guess a talent for secrecy runs in the family.
So Daddy Nakamura's the CEO and wants Hiro to eventually take over for him.... Yeah, I don't see that happening. Hiro is... not a sarariman. The look on Ando's face when he realized that he was the best bro of a (potential) Executive Vice President was hilarious, though. I do kinda wonder exactly why DaddyWarbucks Nakamura is so desperate to have Hiro come home.
Yup. Shrink Oprah done got the stuffing tasered outta her. I wonder why Jessica retreated to leave Niki unconscious, though. I do hope that Shrink Oprah isn't dead.
Claude's been powered for 15 years? Wow... I wonder when the first supers started manifesting. Wait. Claude's spent a lot of time in people's bedrooms? Kinky.
Nice fade away effect to Isaac's garret. And having Claude and Peter be invisible in the paintings as well is an interesting (and nice) touch. I guess if he can "see" other supers using their powers, then he would also NOT "see" Doctor Where?
More family troubles for Hiro. He looks so sorry and weak before his family. Up until Ando accidentally kicks his butt into action.
Poor Claire's been building up this fantasy of her "real" parents her entire life and Kermit's not exactly living up to expectations. The actress playing her mom looks amazingly like her, however, which is a nice casting choice.
So Mr. Muggles will growl at the incoming presence of Papa Bennet, but not Sylar? Is Animal Magnetism one of the powers he's acquired? It looked like Mama Bennet was thisclose to calling Sylar's bluff. Methinks that the constant brainwiping by the Haitian Sensation has left some holes in her survival instincts.
Hee! Now the writers are just teasing us with not revealing Papa Bennet's first name. Speaking of whom, he must've been pounding on that plexi pretty hard to have bloodied his hands that much.
Aww... Claire and ClaireMommy are sharing and bonding as best they can. And I love how relieved and amazed both of them looked when they saw that each other is powered.
Mama Bennet's skeeve-ometer works a hell of a lot better than her survival instincts. I feel so sorry for her, though; she has no idea what's going on and is suffering the sins of her husband. I assume that Papa Bennet's going to have this entire incident wiped from her mind, but I wonder exactly how he's going to explain her bruises. (The damaged stuff can be replaced and their prior existence mem-wiped)
I wonder if Eden and The Haitian Sensation are/were the only supers assigned to Bennet's field office. They're definitely the only ones we've seen and Bennet appears to totally trust them.
I think that Bennet honestly does love his family, but the way he shows it is extremely fucked up. Very "father knows best. Always."
Considering how little I cared for Claire at the beginning of the series, I'm deeply impressed by how much I care for her now.
Snerk. I love how Isaac considers Simone an important effect in his life, but neither/both good or bad. I don't see how this little scene is supposed to make Peter all disillusioned, though. It's not like Isaac and Simone are hooking back up.
Well played, Hiro. Well played.
Oily McLawyerson owns both DL and Niki now. I wonder how long it'll be before they get used.
Hmm. Doctor Where? is definitely more than just a bit of a bastard. But it makes sense that Peter would pull out Claire's regeneration first, considering that it's A) automatic anyway and B) not connected to someone he has an emotional tie to.
HAHAHAHA!!!!! I love how Doctor Where? knocked Peter out in the middle of power overload.
Again: HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! DaddyWarbucks Nakamura looked so insanely uncomfortable with that hug.
Uh oh. Jessica's been learning to hide her true colors.
And now Claire knows that Daddy Dearest is covering stuff up again, some more.
YES!!!!!!!!!! I SO called Nathan as Claire's father! Which makes that whole crush Claire sorta has on Peter just deliciously hilarious!
In closing: I love my cracked-out superhero show SO. MUCH.
