Well last night was eventful.

I was suppossed to take a departmental exam for one of my classes at 7PM, but while I was driving towards campus, I noticed huge clouds of black smoke coming from that direction. To give you an idea, the blowing smoke cloud was easily visible from my apartment ~7 miles from campus.

When I got there, the smoke was literally blanketing about 4-5 streets north of campus, and I found out from a student walking off campus that the university's old power plant building was on fire, causing the entire campus to loose power. Needless to say, my test was postponed.

This morning the paper reported that come construction crews had accidentaly sparked the fire about 5:45 while trying to tear down the power building, and that they were unable to put the fire out until after 10. To my knowledge, they still don't have any power other than from emergency generators.

There are times when I'm *sincerely* glad that I don't live on/near campus.
