Okay, so based on the previouslies, I'm betting that this is going to be a Shannon-based ep.
Aww... you can just taste the love between Sawyer and Michael.
So Shannon is the psychic link to Walt now? Is it because she accepted a duty to him (taking care of Vincent)?
So Charlie is being an ass to Claire, whose doubts about being a mother are returning. Oh, joy.
Shannon was a ballet instructor? Interesting. It implies that she had a level of discipline that we weren't aware of before. And there goes Jack, having finished letting Shannon's dad die.
So Libby's a psychologist? Boy, is she gonna have a buttload of cases ready and waiting for her.
That's actually a good idea that Shannon had, even if Vincent isn't a bloodhound. And while I was jokingly expecting him to lead her to his favorite dead thing to roll around in, I wasn't expecting the gravesite.
So this episode is about Shannon coming to terms with Boone's death, I take. I must admit that it's nice to see his pretty face again. :-)
And Locke continues to be the Prophet. And The Prophet is losing a convert to drugs.
We finally learn the Backenders' story. Part of it, anyway. And when Ana Lucia says "taken", I think she means "physically removed" rather than "killed". That plus Libby's earlier comment to Mistereko about "did you see the children" leads me to believe that the They/Others are a bit low on genetic stock.
Considering that Sayid heard the Otherwhispers himself, you'd think that he'd be a bit more supportive of Shannon. And as bad as she has been and can be, at least she's following her goal.
Oh. Oh, no. Mama Carlyle wasa bit of quite a bitch, wasn't she. How can you not let your STEP-DAUGHTER know the contents of her father's will?
And the Backgammon Game of Significance makes another appearance! I didn't notice; which color was Locke playing vs. which color Charlie was playing?
Oh crap. We were warned that someone wouldn't make it and it looks like Sawyer's been tapped to join Boone and Steve!Scott in that great Beachhouse In The Sky. It makes sense, too; blood poisoning from the gunshot wound is a nasty, painful way to die. I guess he and Ana Lucia won't be knocking boots after all.
Ah, so that's why Shannon is so insistent about going after Walt. She identifies with him, with the whole "he's all alone" bit.
So the Otherwhispers aren't just psychic static; they're actual sounds. In that case, why didn't they take Sayid and Sawyer when they were alone before? Do you think that they're here for Sawyer, you know, to finally take the one they marked?
Sayid, you stupid, STUPID man! You just pulled a 3-for-3 death sentence there, you fool! "I'll never leave you", "I love you" and "I believe you" means that one of you is going to die, you fucker!
Shannon, honey, when the psychic projection of Walt tells you to shush, YOU SHUSH!
Ah, shit. They give us an episode to redeem Shannon and promptly kill her off.
Well, I'd say that Ana Lucia just made a dangerous new enemy, wouldn't you?
