Oh, Looney Tunes, what have they done to you?

I just flipped on the tv for a second and found myself in the middle of Loonatics. Remember this thing? The "reimagining" of classic characters like Bugs, Daffy, Road Runner and Taz into, well, generic superpowered characters in a generic superhero/futuristic action cartoon. It's just stupid! I tried to watch it and the producers are really, really trying to use some of the old WB funny music over these boring, routine "action" sequences. The writing is bland, the characters are stupid, it's... I can't go on anymore, I think my eyes are starting to bleed.

I do believe its the influence of that Anime if you ask me....

Yeah, using anime-style techniques is the "cool" thing to do nowadays, but why couldn't they borrow from GOOD anime instead of the "Big Eyes Small Mouth" "Super-deformed chibi" crap.

For that matter, why fuck with the Looney Tunes gang in the first place? Why not rerun the originals?

You know, no one made mention of the show since it made headlines a while back, so I just assumed it bombed and got canceled. A man can dream, ne?

I think MOST of the attempts to adapt Looney Tunes in more recent times have been ill-advised and just painful to watch. I'm sorry, but Space Jam was atrocious and was desperately trying to be like old times without any of that wit.

Wow I wasn't the only one. I kept watching because it all seemed familier yet didn't and then I looked at the info guide on Cable and found out what it was. Yeah I was greatly disapointed. Sad but I think most kids cartoons these days are rather subpar. Yeah they have better animation, but with no story to support it, it's crap.
