I go offline for three days, three days, and look at the mess you've made. I swear... This is why we can't have nice things, people! Now go to your rooms and think about what you did!

Yes, the mass suspensions were a gross over-reaction. Yes, the criteria by which journals and communities were selected for suspension weren't made clear to LJers until after the fact. Yes, I understand how so many people feel betrayed and are planning to/have already moved to other blogging sites.
However.
The LJ architecture belongs to SixApart and they had legitimate reasons to do what they did. The PTBs recognized that they had acted to heavy-handedly and indiscriminately and immediately began to correct that mistake. And the fact of the matter is that, like when people said they were going to move to Canada if Bush won the 2004 election, people bitch and moan and bluster about things that they're unwilling to actually follow through on.
As for me, I'm not planning on going anywhere. I've been on LJ exclusively since 2003 and I have a lot of friends on here that I want to remain in touch with. And unless we ALL moved en masse to another site, people aren't going to completely abandon LJ.
So yes, be aware, be observant, be concerned and be vocal. But please don't be knee-jerk; it just pisses off your potential allies.
