drewbear: (angry choochoo)
They left the goddamn patio door open all night! Sometime during the night, the plumbers found and fixed the pipe problem, then repoured cement into the gaping holes they had made, but although they turned the water back on, they didn't reconnect the toilet, they left most of the lights in the apartment on, and they left the patio door of our ground floor apartment standing open! ALL. FUCKING. NIGHT. LONG!

[livejournal.com profile] lysariala, Mikey and I went to the management office this afternoon, when the property manager was supposed to be there, and found that A) Shelly wasn't there, and B) the assistant manager couldn't do jack-shit other than "sympathize" with us.

As the named leaseholder, I'm demanding full repayment for the month of December, partial payment of our electric bill for the month of December (when they ran the jackhammer of our line, the lights visibly dimmed), and a waiver of any 30-day notice requirement. We're moving out next week after we get back from Christmas, and we will not be paying any rent for the month of January.

Yes, I know that the above demands may seem unreasonable, keep in mind that I don't post all the problems we have with the apartment. It gets old after a while. If you're really curious, though, you can get a recount of the most recent-bar-this issue here and here on [livejournal.com profile] lysariala's journal. Also, you should know that ever since I moved into this apartment more than 2 years ago, there has been an ever more frequent and ever more damaging number of problems with the apartment, 90% of which are the direct result of the foundation settling, which they've never addressed. For gods' sakes, we've been trapped three times in the apartment when the front doorknob broke and wouldn't turn!

This is just the straw that broke the camel's back. I'll give new, appropriate info when I have it, and as I'm dismantling and moving my computer after I finish this entry, don't expect many or terribly frequent postings for the next few weeks.
