Oct. 28th, 2004 05:14 pmThe rumors of my demise have been greatly exagerated. Over this past week I have merely been trying to not die, which a modicum of success.
I had 2 doctor's appointments this week: one for my psychiatrist and the other for my general doctor. The psychiatrist confirmed that my depressive symptoms from earlier in the month are almost definitely a result of my physical condition, so fewer worries on that front. However, my GP told me that my lingering malaise is a 3-parter, which would explain why I wasn't able to effectively treat it with OTC meds. Firstly, I have a lingering low-level sinus infection, for which he prescribed a Z-Pak. Secondly, I'm suffering from allergies in reaction to the worst ragweed season in around a decade. Finally, I'm suffering from some low-grade asthma which is being exacerbated by the other 2 parts. So I'm using an inhaler 4 times a day as a preventative, and hopefully between all the meds I'm on, I can get my lung capacity above 80% of where it's supposed to be. Breathing while sleeping is a good thing, people.
