Busy couple of days...

furrbear) and his partner came over so that John could work on my new computer. Specifically, trying to get the fechakta thing to admit that it can run Windows XP. It turns out that the problem was that, since I was switching to an entirely different brand of CPU, the copy of XP on my current system didn't have the appropriate recognitions. John worked long and hard, but was eventually stymied by the disabling of wildcard functionality with respect to copying files from my old drive to the new one. He's going to be coming by again this weekend with different software. Thank you, John!
Yesterday, my friend Greg, who was the best man at my sister's (lysariala) wedding, invited a lot of us to a business-formal-wear dinner at Outback Steakhouse in order to announce his marriage! It turns out that he and his (now) wife eloped and got married earlier this month (the 8th, I think), but held off telling anyone until the end of last week. I'm not sure why, exactly, but they seem happy together and I'm glad for them. :-)
Today, I went to work at the dental clinic. This is somewhat unusual since I normally only work there MWF (you see why I'm looking for another job), but my co-worker Sandra is going on vaction today through next week. Hey, more money in the next paycheck! I really need it too, I had to wait until I got my paycheck today and mailed it to the credit union before I could buy groceries. After I pay rent tomorrow, my checking balance will be less than $20, and I'm overdrawn on my credit card. :-( Thank goodness July is a 3 paycheck month. Anyhoo, right now I'm waiting forlizziethered to call me so I can pick her up for math tutoring.
Wow. Considering the events of this week so far and the fact that I'm going to a pool party Saturday, this is quite the full week, neh?
