Jun. 22nd, 2005 09:37 pmFry's had a computer sale that ended yesterday and I bought a new computer, monitor, and CDROM/DVD combo drive for $350. It's got a 40Gb hard drive, AMD Sempron 2200 CPU, 128 MB RAM and is preloaded with Linspire, a Lindows derivative. I can move the hard disks and 256 RAM from my current comp and since the disk running XP on the current system is being transfered, the Lindows isn't an issue. I'm gonna put everything together tomorrow.
Also, for the sixth. Straight. Month in a row, my SBC DSL bill was fucked up. When I called them, they "explained" that the billing cycles for the phone line and the DSL service were out of sync by one day, so the charges for last month's DSL service didn't show up on last month's bill, but rather on this month's. W'ever. The DSL special I had that cut the monthly price to $26 is expiring as of this month anyway, and it's gonna go up to $50/month unless I renew under another special. I'm *really* sick of having to call SBC ever fucking month, so I'm checking out cable DSL through Comcast. Unfortunately, if you want broadband service in Arlington, it's either SBC DSL or Comcast Cable DSL. ANYway, it turns out that Comcast is currently running a 6-month special wherein you get cable TV and DSL for $31/month. My roommate and I have decided that paying $5 more per month and getting cable to boot is a good deal. Tomorrow I'm gonna see about cancelling the phone DSL and getting the Cable DSL.
