Well. Isn't that... odd.

As you know, I've been looking for a roommate since [livejournal.com profile] lysariala moved out to live with her almost-husband at the beginning of the month. My advertising efforts only resulted in one legitimate response and that guy hasn't called back since Monday, so I'm guessing that he's foudn alternate accommodations. Well, about 6:30 I got a call from a long-time friend. He and his lover of more than 5 years are breaking up and he needs someplace to move into, pretty much immediately. Having known him for years, I have no problem with living with him, barring any annoying habits I don't know about. He's coming over tomorrow to see what space there is and there's a good chance that he'll be doing a final move-in by next weekend.

I'm glad that my roommate situation is being resolved (I really like this place and don't want to move if I can help it), but I'm sorry that it's the result of two people I know and like being in pain.

5 years is probably average in gay-guy relationhip deals... (in my observations... and I might even be being generous...)

You're probably right, but the romantic in me finds that incredibly sad.

Well of course it's always unfortunate when a long-time couple breaks up. My last LTR was 9 years remember. Neither of us are still over it I believe. But... we both know that it is/was for the best.

I think the most awkward part is for the mutual friends who are now faced with this quasi-loyalty issue they have to deal with...
