Feb. 14th, 2005 09:26 pmSomething odd happened at work today. We had a woman call in wanting to make an appointment for her fiance, who, like many manly men, is incapable of admitting that the softball-sized swelling in his jaw indicates that he needs to get treatment. He'd rather wait until the tooth finally liquefies from rot and drips out his mouth. (Yes, I know that's uncomfortably graphic, but we've actually had patient with teeth that bad.) AAAAAAnyway, the strange thing is that after making the appointment and receiving an estimate of the cost, she asked me if the dentist (my father) was Christian, since they (she) only went to Christian businesses.
I'm still confused by the reasoning here. Wouldn't you rather pick doctors based on their skill and qualifications rather than their religious affiliations? ESPECIALLY since this was an emergency situation?
I is confuzzeled.
