Sep. 25th, 2004 05:18 pmIt seems like every time I think that humanity as a whole might be worth saving, I see examples to the contrary. Today I saw two:
I was on the highway driving back from one of my students today when I saw a middle-aged (I think) man sitting in a car rear window as the car was going 70 mph. And by "sitting", I mean than his legs were the only things still inside the car. He was leaning across the roof and gesturing at a car driving next to his; I think that he was flipping them the bird and other rude gestures, but I was more concerned with avoiding the inevitable car wreck.
And now for number 2:
When I was almost home, I spotted an SUV stopped dead, motionless in the entrance to my off-ramp, blocking it completely. At first I thought that it might be broken down, but when I pulled up behind it, the bitch driving it peeled off back onto the highway. I can understand taking the wrong exit by accident and swerving back out onto the highway, but coming to a complete stop first? Stupid bitch. (And yes, I saw it was a woman driving)
