Firstly, I love air conditioning. Can we get the Pope on the line to canonize the inventor?

Secondly, [livejournal.com profile] trollprincess has challenged her readers as follows:

I'm declaring it International Recommend-A-Movie Day. This means everyone should go to their LJ right now and tell their friends to watch a really good movie which most of them probably have not seen. And then tell more people to do it. Hopefully, we'll all have lots and lots of recommendations by the end of the day.

I have two that I'm going to reccommend as seldom seen gems instead of just one. Deal.

1) The Mighty
Kieran Culkin, Macauley's younger brother, stars in this movie about the power and consequences of friendship. I can't adequately summarize this movie, but consider that supporting roles are played by Gillian Anderson, Sharon Stone, James Gandolfini, and Meatloaf. It's that good.

2) π is a surrealistic adventure into the realm of obscure mathematics, Jewish mysticism, chaos theory, corporate cut-throat dealings, and ants. If that sounds confusing, it is, yet like the number of it's title, a curious and beautiful order emerges from seeming chaos.
