Sep. 6th, 2004 09:20 pmWell, my weekend proceeded mostly as I expected it to. Of my 3 students, 2 sessions went smoothly, and the third canceled because he didn't realize that today was Labor Day, and he would not be available. (Whatever)
I got all my homework done except for the last 2 math problems, where I quit before the multiple stright hours of math made my head go blooey. I hate it when that happens; it's such a mess to clean up.
A friend stayed over last night and since my student for today had cancelled, we went to a party hosted by a couple of the guys from the Dallas Bears. I had a very good time, and lasted about 7 hours before exhaustion and duty called me back home. I met 5 new people, all of them real nice guys. (and hot!!)
I'm still upset that I couldn't go down to Houston to see my grandparents, but I called them this morning and wished everyone down there a Happy Labor Day (yeah, I don't see that becoming a Hallmark card, either) and made sure that my Nana and Pop knew that I wanted to be there but just couldn't. What I may do, however, is later this fall, schedule a weekend off and go down there for just a day or two. They own the (fricking *HUGE*) house next door, which rather than selling or renting, has become sort of a hotel for family traveling to or through Houston. So housing won't be a problem, I just have to arrange the time.
I hope that everyone who went to cons this weekend had good times, and I hope that everyone who didn't go to cons had good times as well. Basically, I hope that everyone had a good long weekend.
Sleep beckons, and I mustn't keep such good company waiting!
