Lord, but I hate it when I do something stupid.

Last Friday I received my credit card statement and noticed a couple of charges that looked suspicious: they were for businesses I never heard of that are based out of Minnesota and Missouri respectively. Although the charges were small (less than $60 total), I called my card's customer service people, and the nice woman I spoke with told me that the two businesses sold accessories and women's clothing, respectively. Obviously, I wouldn't be shopping at these stores, so she marked the charges as fraudulent, locked my card, and told me that a new card number would be issued and that it would arrive within 7-10 business days. Annoying, but I was glad that I pinched the credit card theft in the butt before it got too bad.

Then came this morning.

While I was getting dressed, I noticed one of the bear shirts I had bought at the gay pride parade, and it struck me: the charges were for the purchase of the shirts and some stuff I'd bought at Scarborough. That's why the business locations were unfamiliar & why I didn't recognize their names. (Why a gay-themed clothing seller would be classified as a "women's clothing retailer" is beyond me.) So I called the customer service center again this morning and explained the situation, and requested that they re-instate the charges. (I don't want to commit credit card fraud, people.) But because the card had already been marked invalid, I still have to wait for the new one to arrive sometime next week. I know that I brought it on myself, but it really pisses me off that I did this to myself.
