Four-eyes

So training has been going pretty good; I think I'm ready for the first test on Monday. There area few things I'm still not 100$ on, but I think I can fake my way through it. :-p

The bad news is that today during our test review study time, my glasses broke. I don't mean that the screw fell out or something easy like that. No, the earpiece broke off right past the hinge, where it connects to the frame. I tried to superglue it once I got home, but the contact surface is too small and I can't get it stable enough for the flue to set without the pieces slipping apart first.

All I can say is that I'm so glad that I've developed into a touch-typist. I wrote this entire post without being able to see either the keys or the screen. :-P If worse comes to worst, I can get really, really close to the screen or paper to read it.

So, can you go somewhere tomorrow and use your new insurance and get at least new frames? Fire recovery is proceeding apace, as for me, every day brings a new defeat.

Unfortunately, no. My insurance doesn't go active until May 1. I do have a line on a company that may be able to do my glasses for fairly cheaply, but they have a 3 week delivery timeline because they're produced in Hong Kong. If nothing else, it'll be good to haev them as a backup pair, just in case.
