There is an old folk belief in England that no demon can enter a house whose door is painted blue. By that belief, my apartment is now demon-free. It's always odd to come home from work to find "renovation" either in progress or completed while I was gone, but it's nice to see that the apartment managers are looking out for my metaphysical safety.
