I had a good weekend. Y'know, in case my last post didn't make that clear... >;)

Didn't do much of anything on Saturday, which is always nice. On Sunday, the family went to the last performance of Clue: the Musical at Theatre Arlington. It's a fun, silly show and I enjoyed it a lot. And yes, the who/how/where answer changes every show. The music was good, and I really liked the song "Everyday Devices". I want that song on my computer, dammit! :)

On the way home, [livejournal.com profile] lysariala stopped by PepBoys so I could pick up some oil for my car. It's amazing how much better it runs with oil in it... Anyway, I went over to The Hidden Door in Dallas and met up with some of the guys from the bear group. Good conversation, and their outside patio was well-ventilated, so the smoke didn't get to me. Getting hit on was veeeerrrrry nice. Sometime last night it finally clicked that I can be and am desirable, and I feel so good today.

And yes, I was a little naughty. But good boys don't kiss and tell... ;)

The good news just keeps on coming! (Thank you, Jebus! You're my favorite fictional charac... er, superher... um, religious martyr!)

I just checked today's mail and found that 1) my new credit card is here and 2) an "interest applied" credit was added to last months electric bill after I paid it, and the credit completely ate this month's bill with some left over! Woohoo!

Also, the repairman came over today while I was at work and fixed the garbage disposal! Not only is it not spewing filthy water all over the entirety of the undersink area, but it actually chews up garbage now! (The old one didn't and they never came out to fix it despite our roughly bimonthy requests. C'mon, we didn't really need it that often.)

Plus, Boss!Dad closed the office from June 28 - August 2. Paid vacation time, and the family's prolly gonna make a weekend trip down to Austin and/or Schlitterbahn. Waterpark! SHADY waterpark!

Yes, I know I sound all hyper, but I deserve it considering how much worrying I've been doing over money recently. One less bill + credit card resuming + + paid vacation time + extra paycheck this month = goodness.

Oh dear fucking god. He's losing/lost credibility with the imaginary Iraq/Al Qaeda link, so Bush is now trying to link Iran to 9/11. At this point, it doesn't even matter whether Iran really was sponsoring it or not; Bush looks desperate. And while distracting the voting populace with wartime gloom & doom is a tried and true political maneuver, Bush & Co. have pumped that well dry. The constantly changing "bad guy of the week", the vaguer and vaguer "potential terrorism" alerts (this week we're on what? Level Bert?), the growing dissent within the ranks of hardcore Republicans! The tried and true method is supposed to be used as a feint, a distraction, not as a way of life. 'Cause like all con games, if you run it too long, people see through it.
