I'm disliking Locke more and more. If he really had Walt's best interests at heart he would have discussed this with Michael in the first place. And Boone really has turned into a Faithful Disciple (TM), hasn't he?

Yeah... really not liking Walt's mom.

Shouldn't Sun be more careful if she wants to keep the others *coughJincough* from finding out.

Frankly, I'm surprised the raft idea didn't come up sooner.

Oh god. Wasn't OMGWTFPOLARBEAR from the comic book the first time? What else is coming out of that book of the damned?

HOLY SHIT! That certainly came out of nowhere, and it definitely explains why Michael wasn't more involved in Walt's childhood.

And the Great-Mediator-BarbieKate action figure springs to life.

Is it just me, or does Boone look dead in the eyes?

Susan is either entirely oblivious or desperately trying to assuage her guilt.
...Aaaaaaaand guilt it is. (I missed the last half of this scene because of a telemarketer call. Dammit, phone! I thought we already had that conversation!)

Walt really is a little punk, isn't he?

Since when did Kate become Counselor Troi?

Aww! Poor Charlie is in the classic "illicit diary" quandry! (Dominic Monaghan played that scene really well)

Is Walt trying to establish a telepathic connection with Vincent?
I get the feeling that Walt was ignored a lot by these two, which makes Michael's fervent desire to be a father that much more poignant.

Okay, so it's established that Walt can summon (and kill?) creatures (and weather?) he sees in books. So our count is currently:
  1. Locke - creepy-ass shaman figure who was mysteriously healed of lower-limb paralysis.
  2. Claire's baby - foreseen as being a great evil upon the world unless Claire raises him with "her goodness and light"
  3. Walt - psychic summoner with parenting/authority issues.
Isn't this turning out well.

And Brian's an ass too. A good match for Susan, then.

There's the mysterious box from last week. Will we find out what's in it? Why, it's every letter, note and postcard that Michael ever sent, of course! And of course Susan never let Walt know about them before!

Aww! Michael's doing the right thing here. He really does have the proper Father Instincts, he just hasn't had much chance to use them before.

So it's Return of the Attack of the OMGWTFPOLARBEAR, tonight's matinee feature!

Oh shit. Michael's going to die, isn't he. He redeemed himself in his son's eyes and he made the mistake of trusting Locke. It's like wearing a target on his back. Not to mention that the PTBs faked us out twice already and they can't continue to weasel out of their "a main character will die" promise anymore.

Let the Father-Son Bonding begin! A mutual love of art spans the generation gap!

Ohpleaseohpleaseohplease let it be the Critter! Wait, Claire?! Babymama looks haggard! And not pregnant!

So next week is a rerun of the Sayid episode? I wonder why?

LOL I love your up-to-the-second postings about Lost. I have a question, though. F*cking DVR doesn't record the show, just the time slot. Since Lost tends to run about 3 minutes over every time, I missed everything after Walt and his papa checked out the art that he was drawing all these years. I think it had something to do with Charlie? It cut out and much cursing ensued...

This show really intrigues me...

Charlie finally broke down and read Claire's diary. She had some nice things to say about him, which made him go all gooshy inside, but then he read something (we didn't see what) and rushed over to the MapCrew. Apparently Claire had been having recurring dreams/nightmares about "the black rock", which Charlie remembered Sayid talking about in reference to the Franch woman. The MapCrew now speculates that the maps are a reference to where the black rock (whatever the hell it is) is.

Finally, Locke and Boone are out jungling, blowing the bamboo whistle for Vincent, when the underbrush rustles (Boone: "Vincent? Is that you?") and Claire stumbles out. The lighting they used makes it very ambiguous whether or not she's still pregnant, but I think that she's already given birth.

I completely agree about Jack. He's okay Hero material, but can't lead his way out of a paper sack. Personally, I think that Hurley is/is going to be the leader. He organized and dispersed the food from the wreckage, he (and Charlie) were the first to try fishing, he organized the stress-reliever of golfing, and he thought up and took the census. But he's the fat guy, so of course he won't be in a position of importance (::gag::)

And the mystery powers have been implied from the first, what with Locke getting his legs back. It was just a matter of time before other stuff become more prevalent. And who know? Maybe the PTBs are just screwing with our heads and the psychic stuff is just a ruse.

Mmm... Interesting... I really need to set the DVR to just go ahead and record what's after Lost so I don't miss vital scenes like that! I appreciate the breakdown. Man, I wish I knew what was going on... No actually. Not knowing what's going on is what's so intriguing about the show.

Do you think that each person on the island has a specific purpose? Are they all there for a reason? It seems like most/all of the back stories have the person getting on the flight almost by chance, like they could have just as easily NOT gotten on the plane. I'm curious about all these other passengers...
