By now I assume that everyone has heard that the FCC has levied a $550,000 fine against CBS because of the now-infamous (not that we really care) Janet Jackson boob-flash at last year's Super Bowl halftime show. As a whole, we're such a prudish, schoolmarm-ish country. *sigh*

In any case, the new development in this "story" reminded me of this song.

The host site is a local radio station, KDGE.com, the Edge, and they have more short audio clips here.

Da Vinci's Notebook!

www.homestarrunner.com They have a clip called "The Ballad of the SneaK" where that groups sings the song in old 20's style Or maybe even further back.

The silly think about the FCC is that it really can't do anything. It can levy fines all it wants but it can't censor the air, contrary to popular belief. The only thing that can censor the airwaves is society itself. Literally - there is a clause that states that nothing within the realm of the "prurient interest" within the context of "contemporary" society should be shown. LOL So that's when the FCC steps in and slaps CBS with a piddily fine. As if half a mill is anything to CBS.

The FCC may not be able to do much beyond levying fines, but it keeps attention on "THE HORROR! THE HORROR! IT'S A NIPPLE!!!!" and embarrasses CBS.

Politics are SO much fun, aren't they?
