Odd....

Livejournal seems to be not sending me some replies to posts/comments of mine. I wouldn't have noticed except that I was re-reading a recent thread in someone else's journal and noticed that a comment of mine had been replied to without my ever receiving a notice. I wonder what else I've missed...

Also, about 5 minutes ago I felt vertiginous despite being firmly seated here in front of the computer. What's up with that?

That happens to me sometimes. It's usually when I am sitting in low ambient light and have been staring intently at the monitor for an hour or more without focusing elsewhere, much. It's very strange. I've started making sure I get up from the chair and take a several minute break at least once an hour, get a drink, relax a bit. I've also began turning on the brighter overhead light at nighttime rather than using my normal diffused lamp exclusively.

I was just a little freaked out because it had never happened before and I'm a little gunshy about new & different physical sensations at the moment. I'd rather not find that I'm suffering from Peruvian Doom Vertigo or something. :-)

I don't yet have a theory on what causes the sensation. I've wondered if light particles from the monitor affect my autonomic nervous system somehow (although I hate to think about it this way, perhaps in a similar way to what an epileptic experiences before a seizure, but in a much more subdued way), because, peripherally speaking, I feel generally anxious, I notice, when I've gotten that feeling at the monitor. If I lay down on the couch and watch TV, for instance, I often feel like I drank three cups of coffee or something, like I need to go for a jog, even when I didn't have anything. It's that kind of feeling.
